Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel & Crematorium History

In 1964, Les Osborn had a dream. A dream that brought great privilege and honour to help those of his city through some of their most painful moments in life. To this day, we take immense pride in continuing his legacy of caring ethics and exemplary service to families in their time of need. At Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, we proudly provide a full range of compassionate funeral services, cremations, and burials.

Les would be incredibly proud of his daughters, Joan and Diane, for continuing to see his dream through to more generations with the same core values and beliefs that he held so close to his heart, successfully keeping his legacy alive.

Having deep roots in the community, the Osborn Family helped shape Maple Ridge alongside many other iconic families that were and are still dedicated to the development and growth of the wonderful community we are a part of.

Family Owned and Operated

Long time Maple Ridge residents, Les and Eileen Osborn, opened Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel in 1964. Upon retiring in 1988, their daughters, Diane MacKenzie and Joan Gibson, continued the Osborn legacy of dedicated service.

In 2021, after 33 years of serving their community, Joan and Diane retired and handed the reigns over to Ian Elliott and his apprentice, Dan Baxter. With over 40 years of experience as a funeral director and embalmer, Ian is honoured to champion the same core values as the Osborn family and continue to provide outstanding service for the community in their times of need.

One year later, Dan Baxter became a licensed funeral director. Two years after that, his daughter, Rachel, followed in his footsteps  and is now in her second year of her apprenticeship to become a funeral director and embalmer.

Through four generations, Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel & Crematorium has been, and will continue to be,  a source of support and comfort during your most difficult times through memorial services, cremation and burial.
