Sheela Shashikant Purav (birth name Pushpalata Patil) was a woman of quiet strength, resilience, and unconditional love. Raised in Palghar, she was hardworking and intelligent, with a love for mathematics. Everyone who knew her speaks of how loving, gentle, and caring she was.

She was a devoted and selfless wife, and after our father’s passing, she showed extraordinary courage, sacrifice and wisdom. She dedicated her life to raising us (her daughters) and taught us, simply by how she lived, to be strong, independent, and compassionate women. 

She was a spiritual person and a devoted follower of Shri Swami Samartha and her journey to Akkalkot was one of her deeply cherished memories. The last six years of her life were spent in Canada, filled with love, laughter, and togetherness. She found happiness in simple things—flowers, chai, and pizza—but above all, in being with her family. She lived her life selflessly, always putting family first. We will be grateful forever for the time we spent with her. Her legacy of love, values, and strength lives on through us.

Though her physical presence is deeply missed she will continue to live in our hearts forever.

" पत्नी, आई आणि आजीही तू,

हाच वारसा आम्हाला लाभलेला तू.

प्रेम करायला शिकवलेस, लढायला शिकवलेस,

आम्हाला बळ दिलेस, सामर्थ्य दिलेस.

तुझ्यासारखी धाडसी व्यक्ती दुर्मीळच,

तुझ्या हृदयात नेहमीच माया आणि जिव्हाळाच.

आमच्यासाठी तू प्रत्येक वेळी उभी राहिलीस,

फक्त पत्नी म्हणून नाही, तर आई म्हणूनही.

तू दिलेले सर्व काही सर्वोत्तम होते,

आता विश्रांती घेण्याची वेळ आली.

शांतपणे विसाव, तुझी झोप कमावली  तू —

तुझं प्रेम आमच्या हृदयात,

सदैव जपून ठेवू .”

शीला शशिकांत पुरव (जन्मनाव – पुष्पलता पाटील) या शांत स्वभाव,  मृदू धैर्य आणि निःस्वार्थ प्रेमाच्या प्रतिमा होत्या. त्यांचे बालपण पालघर येथे गेले. त्या मेहनती, बुद्धिमान आणि गणित विषयाची त्यांना विशेष आवड होती. त्यांना ओळखणारे, त्यांच्या प्रेमळ, सौम्य आणि काळजीवाहू स्वभावाबद्दल नेहमीच सांगतात.

त्या एक निष्ठावान आणि त्यागी पत्नी होत्या. आमच्या वडिलांच्या निधनानंतर त्यां अपार धैर्य आणि ताकदीने आयुष्याला सामोरे गेल्या. आम्हाला वाढवताना त्यांनी स्वतःच्या आयुष्यापेक्षा आमचं आयुष्य मोठं मानलं आणि आम्हाला आपल्या कृतीतून स्वावलंबी आणि संवेदनशील  होणे शिकवलं. त्यांच्या शिकवणी शांत होत्या, पण आयुष्यभर साथ देणाऱ्या होत्या.

त्या अत्यंत धार्मिक आणि श्री स्वामी समर्थांच्या निष्ठावान भक्त होत्या. त्यांची अक्कलकोट यात्रा त्यांच्या सर्वात आनंदी आठवणींपैकी एक होती. त्यांच्या आयुष्यातील शेवटची सहा वर्षे त्यांनी कॅनडामध्ये घालवली—प्रेम, हास्य आणि एकत्र असण्याच्या असंख्य सुंदर क्षणांनी भरलेली.

फुलं, चहा आणि पिझ्झा यांसारख्या साध्या गोष्टींमध्ये त्यांना आनंद सापडायचा, पण कुटुंबासोबत असण्यातच त्यांचा खरा आनंद होता. त्यांनी आयुष्यभर इतरांसाठी स्वतःला झोकून दिलं.

त्या केवळ आई आणि आजी नव्हत्या, तर कुटुंबाचा आधारस्तंभ होत्या—अनेकांच्या आयुष्याला स्पर्श करणारी एक प्रेमळ आणि सद्गुणी व्यक्ती. आज त्या आमच्यात नाहीत, पण त्या सदैव आमच्या हृदयात राहतील.
