A graveside service is ceremony which takes place at the cemetery where the casket or cremated remains are laid to rest.  It may be a private ceremony with friends and family, or open to others in the community who knew the decedent. 

Graveside services tend to be relatively short and may have religious or non-religious elements. It may include clergy or just a member of the family saying a few words. There may be poems, hymns, prayers, and a eulogy.
