Thomas Joseph “T.J.”
T.J. passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026. He was 56. He loved music and poetry and expressed his feelings by writing poems.
Unfortunately, cancer took hold and wouldn’t let go. His courage through it all was amazing.
Someone now will be able to see again because he gifted his eyes.
To honor him, how about writing a little poem and listen to some jazz. He would love that.
Let’s remember him with love.

I never knew T.J. but felt like I did by hearing stories from his Mom.
He had a very close bond with her. They were dedicated to each other.
I do know he had a sweet tooth. Also enjoyed to watch friends as a favourite pastime.
T.J. had many hurdles to overcome in his lifetime. Way too many than anyone should bare.
Rest in peace T.J. ❤️

For T.J.
I never met you,
yet I see you in the love your mother carries,
steady and bright.
A man of music,
of lines written from the heart,
you turned feelings into rhythm,
and rhythm into art.
Your courage spoke
in quieter ways than words,
and even in goodbye
you gave the gift of sight.
Tonight the jazz will play a little softer,
a poem will be read in your name,
nand those who love youwill hold your light the same.

Tj, the world didn't get to see your gift of drumming and your musicality like we all had hoped as it was a true blessing. But the world got to see you become the wonderful person you were, the person we all loved and now after all the challenges you were dealt with and worked so hard to overcome you will rest and be forever in our memory.

I didn’t have the privilege of meeting T.J., but I know what a wonderful, loving mother he had, and that tells me so much about the man he became.
A soul who loved music and poetry and who expressed his heart through words must have brought depth and feeling to the people around him. His courage in the face of cancer was remarkable, and his final gift – helping someone else to see – is a legacy of true light.
Tonight I’ll listen to some jazz and read a little poem for him. Holding you all in my thoughts.
