It is with heavy hearts that we share the peaceful passing of Robert Humphries Ward on January 14, 2023, surrounded by family at Mountain View Manor in Ladner, BC.
Loving father to Suzanne (Lindsay) and Nancy (Glen) and the proud grandfather of Grange, Matthew, Julia and Gillian. Bob is survived by his brother Don (Jean) and many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his nephew Cameron.
Bob began a life-long career in men’s wear, opening his first store, Robert Ward, in Hamilton. Throughout his career Bob ensured his many loyal customers from Ontario to BC left his stores dapperly dressed.
In his free time, Bob enjoyed listening to jazz and reading biographies. His greatest joy was spending time with family, particularly his four grandchildren. Whether planning spontaneous family road trips to Kennebunkport, Maine, organizing a game of golf with friends or teaching his daughters to ski at Saint-Sauveur, Quebec, Bob looked on the bright side of everything.
We would like to express our gratitude to the entire staff at Mountain View Manor for their exceptional care of our father.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Ontario at a later date. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

It was my great pleasure to have first met Bob while he was in his element - the men's clothing section of the Hudson's Bay store in Vancouver. A man of his word, he eventually found the right double-breasted, navy suit and sent it to me in Ontario through his son-in-law Glen, knowing it would sharpen my image! Working with Glen allowed me to keep up with how Bob was doing over the years, and he never failed to ask about me and my family. A genuinely unique character and a dapper gentleman that I'm truly glad I had the chance to meet. My deepest condolences for your loss.
