With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Joseph Philippe Patrick Hermkens, who was taken from us far too soon on June 28, 2024, at the age of 51. He leaves behind his loving immediate family: Mother Monique, Father Pierre, Brother Steven (Dennise), Nephew Jim, Nieces Taylor and Katelynn, and his extended family across Canada. He brought great joy and light into our lives; he had a very kind and generous heart. He shall remain in our hearts forever and will be sorely missed.
A church funeral service will be held privately.

Knew Patrick from using his waste removal service, only found out about his death today. Only after googling his name as number was out of service.

I am shocked and grieving for my old friend Cranberry Pat. He was the warmest, kindest and most caring person and friend I have ever had. We used to go on so many adventures and crazy hijinks together over the years and those I will always cherish. Pat had a special kind of radar as he always seemed to just know when I was in some kind of trouble, funk or crisis panic and the phone would ring and it would be him or my buzzer would ring and it would be him and he would take me off to have some crazy fun time to the PNE or off roading or way out to the middle of nowhere at midnight to watch a meteor shower and I would forget my problems and they always seemed to get sorted out. Sometimes we would go and just eat and eat and eat. Like he would say he could eat 3 chickens, a pig and a cow! Ha ha ha....
I prayed last night for The Lord to keep him close in heaven and again this morning right before leaving for work and as I was walking down my hall to the door to leave, my radio suddenly starting playing an old song that he once made me listen to him sing as it was his favourite song at the time. I stopped right there in my tracks and I knew it was a message from heaven that Pat is in good hands as he is at home now with The Lord.

I just tried to call Pat but his number was out of service so I googled him only to very sadly find that he had passed away! I have many fond memories of working with him on our cranberry fields and he often came boating with me . I will look him up when I get to Heaven ! I am so sorry for your loss Peter, Monique and Steven May our Lord Jesus comfort you!
