It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Micheal (Mike) Parrish at home at the age of 63. He is survived by his mother and father Carole and Allan Parrish, brothers Randy and Chris Parrish, sons Jordan and Adam Parrish, and fiance April Rochon.
Mike was a very kind, funny man, dedicated hard working meat cutter at Safeway for 40 years and a caring and loving partner, son and father. Mike's second love in life was his black lab. Mike loved Mitch deeply whom he bonded over playing ball, fetching in Cultus Lake, walks, car rides and snoozing in bed.
Mike always found the humorous side of life making friends everywhere he went. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed the outdoors participating in camping, fishing, waterskiing and downhill mountain biking in his middle aged years. He was also an avid hockey fan.
Mike was a car enthusiast (aka gear head) who enjoyed going to the car shows and working on his family cars. He loved taking things apart that broke only to fix them and put them back together again. Mike took great pride with doing home improvements/renovations on the houses he owned over the years.
Mike your spirit will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
"Until we see each other again......"
A celebration of Mike's life will be held in May 2024 to be announced.
Safeway has graciously opened a memorial in Mike's name and donations in lieu of flowers can be made at
Black Dog Rescue Society of BC.

Mike your presence still echoes through the memories of my life.
Around every corner I hear your laughter and it reminds me of happier times.
Your genuine, caring manner exposed your tender heart.
You were a shining star for all to see
but the stars that burn the brightest sadly burn the shortest.......
Your missed beyond words 💔

I attended Hillcrest Elementary with Michael. Some of my earliest musical interactions were with Mike playing banjo. A nice kid, way back in the day.

Along with working with Mike in several stores over many years, Mike and I had a lot of good times playing many years of hockey together. There were also many great days of downhill mountain biking with Mike that will be fondly remembered. You were to young bud, rest in peace.

Mike was a very good friend of our family. My mom thought the world of Mike. One of the best skiers I have ever skied with! A super kind man who always had a smile on his face. My brothers best friend. So many fine memories of Mike. May he rest in peace. O
