Mary Louise Leece (Parkes) passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025 in Maple Ridge, B.C., surrounded by loved ones.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Norm and her daughter Diane.

She is survived by her grandson David (Lisa) and her great-grandchildren, Jack, Ella, Emmy, and Charlie, as well as nieces, a nephew, and a dear family friend.

Mary was born on Vancouver Island then moved to Vancouver as a young adult for work.

While there she met and married her beloved husband Norm.  Together they built a home in Vancouver where they raised their daughter Diane.  Eventually they built a home at Wall Beach on Vancouver Island where they tended their bountiful garden and enjoyed their waterfront view.  Mary always wore a smile, had a positive attitude and kept her keen sense of humour throughout her life.

She exuded style and elegance, always beautifully coiffed and manicured red nails.  Mary was a very skilled seamstress and loved being in her kitchen baking bread, pies, and cinnamon buns which she would generously share with family, friends, and neighbours.  Later in life Mary took up golf, enjoying the challenge.

With gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and care aides who treated Mary with such respect and kindness.
