After a life devoted to family and friends, Louise Bernadette Laberge departed this life peacefully on February 20th, 2026, at Maple Ridge Hospital.
She was born on June 15, 1943, in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan and grew up in Mankota Saskatchewan. Her family moved to Assiniboia, Sask. in 1960. There she attended high school and met Al. She married Al in 1963 and started her own family the following year. In 1967 they relocated to B.C. There she initially worked at the bank then in real estate. She enjoyed a large circle of friends due to her kind nature and playful nature. Her heart was so large that she and Al decided to share their home for over 17 years with over 100 foster kids. Over time, the grandchildren were welcomed into her family, and again she shined. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy!
She is lovingly survived by her children Todd (Crystal), Tammy (Glenn) and Penny (James); and five grandchildren, Cole, Josh, Jaden, Duncan and Alana. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Laberge; her parents John and Mary Fink; her siblings Elaine (Norm), Raymond (Edna), and Monica; her grandson Brendon Gretz.
A memorial service will be held on Friday March 20th, 2026, at 11:30 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Maple Ridge (22561 121St Avenue, Maple Ridge).
Her kindness, warmth, and devotion to family friends will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Very sad. Louise was a big part of my life. I always refer back to the lessons I was taught and shown by Louise, Al, and the family. Mom had such a big heart. She loved and cared for me when I needed it the most. She will be missed but remembered always. ❤️❤️
