It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lester Raymond Marshall on September 7, 2026, at Ridge Meadows Hospital. He was 79 years old. He was predeceased by his parents Vivian and Bill Marshall, brother Bill Marshall, brother-in-law Milton Morrison, sister-in-law Cecelia Panton, and nephew Kenn Wallman.

Les is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon, son Brian (Anna) and family (Rhys, Adelina, Atticus), daughter Shelley (Sean), and niece Deb Veito and family (Ashley, Jenika, and families).

Les was born in Calgary, AB, and was raised in various communities in BC, Alberta, and the United States (Florida, Texas, New York) where his parents pastored. Growing up in a musical family, he excelled at playing the piano. After settling in BC, he married and had two children. He worked at Eaton’s and as an operations manager for appliance chains. Les loved the outdoors, including his many hunting and fishing trips over the years and trips exploring the Yukon and Alaska. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his son’s and grandkids’ games. He always took pride in maintaining the greenest, weed-free lawn, and was convinced he could fix his daughter’s weed-covered lawns.

He will be remembered for his wonderful smile and friendly, outgoing ways. He was always willing to strike up a conversation. Les will be deeply missed.

At his request, there will be no service. There will be a small gathering for the immediate family at a future date.
