Laura was born on January 23rd, 1965, to Barbara Jean Mary Parker. Born and raised right here in Vancouver, she was a true West Coast soul through and through.

While Laura had many passions, nothing compared to the love she had for her son, Dustin James Edward Parker. From the moment he was born on November 15th, 1993, he became her world. She was his biggest cheerleader, his rock, and his "pride and joy" in every sense of the word. When Dustin started playing lacrosse at the age of five, Laura didn't just attend the games —she became the heart of the team. A true "Lax Mom," she never missed a practice or a game. She was the one organizing the time clocks, managing the scorekeeping, and making sure everything ran smoothly. The lacrosse community became her second family, and seeing Dustin continue to play and coach today is a testament to the foundation of support she built for him.

Laura also found a sense of freedom and adventure on the back of a motorcycle. Alongside her partner, Irwin, she traveled many miles and shared countless adventures. Whether it was the camaraderie of a bike rally or the generosity of the Christmas toy runs, Laura loved the spirit of the riding community.

That same dedication carried over into her professional life. For 15 years, she was a staple at Valley Traffic Systems. She took immense pride in her work as a traffic control person, keeping her community safe. Even when life took her away from the job, her heart remained there; she missed her work and her colleagues every day, always hoping for the chance to return to the career she loved.

Laura was A legacy of Kindness. If you knew Laura, you knew she was the "go-to" person. She was always just a phone call away, ready to help anyone with anything, no questions asked. She was a rare combination of brutal honesty and deep caring. She had a unique gift for knowing exactly how to make someone’s day just a little bit brighter.

Laura taught us what it means to show up—for our families, for our jobs, and for each other. She leaves behind a legacy of service, motherhood, and a spirit of adventure that will not be forgotten. We will miss her deeply, but we will carry her light with us in every game played and every mile traveled.
