Joyce Robinson, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born on August 31, 1939 in Liverpool, England and lived there until immigrating to Canada at the age of 13. She lived a life marked by love, devotion and simple joys. At the age of 18, she met the love of her life, Edward Donald Robinson (Sweet Eddy). The two were married a year later and shared many wonderful years together until Ed’s passing in 2000.
For over 30 years, Joyce worked at Sears, where she was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and friendly nature. Her career was a source of pride, and she formed many lasting friendships along the way.
Joyce loved going to the beach, finding peace and happiness on long morning walks with Ed by the ocean. Music was also another lifelong passion, one that she passed on to her children. Whether it was Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett, the songs of her first years of marriage always filled the home. We also cannot forget the endless games of cards and Monopoly she would play with her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother (grammie), great grandmother, and a cherished friend. Her warmth, strength, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by Phil Robinson (Twyla), Kerry Seifried (Norman) and Samantha Buchanan (Duncan); grandchildren, Darrel (Louise), Michael, Daniel (Tia), Rebecca, Collin, Emma and Abigail; great-grandchildren, Theodor, Vincent, Maxamillon and Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents Eric and Florence Topping.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Wesbrooke Seniors Living Community where Joyce had resided since 2021 and to McKenny Creek Hospice Residence, where she spent her final days. Their kindness, compassion, and dedication shown to our mother and family will be forever appreciated.
A family celebration of life will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Ridge Meadows Hospice Society, or that you take time to enjoy the beach, listen to some music or play a game of cards in her memory.
