We are very sad to announce the passing of Jennifer on July 28, after two years of failing health. She was a passionate, stubborn, creative, loving person who has left us too soon. 

She was born in Vancouver, and grew up on Eagle Island, West Vancouver, with her parents Bill and Sheila Rivers, and her younger sister Robin. 

Her passions included gardening, the colour pink, nature, travelling, shopping, celebrating birthdays and Christmas, and getting dressed up for a night out with friends.

She married Doug Strong in the late '80's, and was so happy to become a mother in 1997 with the birth of their daughter Sara. 

For many years she worked at the Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. She loved connecting with patients, and building friendships with colleagues.

After she moved to Maple Ridge, she did home support which was rewarding and challenging. She became friends with many of the seniors she looked after, and their families.

When she retired, she moved to a waterfront apartment in White Rock. She loved sitting on the balcony waving at people walking by and enjoying the amazing scenery.
