Wanda Jeanette Clyne (nee Beaver)

September 6, 1938 - April 18, 2022 (age 83)

With a profound sadness, we wish to announce the loss of an amazing human being, Wanda Jeanette Clyne. Family at her side, Jeanette passed away peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the age of 83.

Jeanette is pre-deceased by her husband Al (June 29, 1997), father Harry, and mother Ruby. She is survived by her children Bill (Lynne), Linda (Roy), Susan (Brennan), Brenda (Ken), brother Ross (Marg), grandchildren Kristin, Aaron (Allana), Josh, and great granddaughter Brooklyn.

A kind and loving mother, trusted confidante, consummate politician, and friend to all who met her, she could hold a conversation like no other. Born in Exeter, Ontario in 1938, Jeanette developed a passion for baseball at a young age, and pursued a career in nursing which she eventually left to raise four children. After marrying her husband Al in 1956, she followed his military postings from Ontario to Germany and back, moving to Port Coquitlam after leaving the military in 1973, and finally settling in Maple Ridge in 1994.

She was a staunch supporter of the Toronto Blue Jays, keeping notes of player stats and nary missing a game. She also loved a game of cards, and her friendly disposition lightened the pockets of many unsuspecting poker friends over the years. Jeanette leaves a hole in our hearts that over time will heal with memories of the love and kindness she shared throughout her life. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her second family, the wonderful friends and staff at Sunwood.

The Clyne family would like to express our gratitude to the staff of 2W at Ridge Meadows Hospital for the wonderful care, kindness, and empathy they displayed over Jeanette’s hospital stay. We also wish to thank Rev. Leenane Shiels, who compassionately provided Jeanette with comfort in her final days. Per Jeanette’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
