My family is so sad to hear of her passing. I love the picture. That is exactly as I remember her. A big smile and a loving heart. It feels like just yesterday we were kids running the neighbourhood and she was one of the Moms keeping us going. I loved how she would keep in touch with me on Fb I felt like she was right here on Kelmore. The house still stands and I think of the whole family every time I drive past it.
My condolences to the family.I wish for you strength and peace. I’d like to think she, my Mom and Peggy are sitting around having a lively chat 😁

We knew Ivene, along with Bob, as long time volunteers at Ridge Meadows Hospital. Ivene spent over a decade as a wayfinder at the hospital, providing reassuring guidance to everyone who came through the hospital doors. Her friendly energy and encouraging smile made our hospital a better place and she was a great friend to countless other volunteers. We are lucky to have had her as part of our volunteer team and honoured to have known her.

Ivene always brought such joy to my days! She was my maternal grandmother’s cousin and I remember meeting her as a young girl. She was the sweetest human! Over the years, she always stayed in touch via holiday cards, emails with interesting life updates and cute jokes, then eventually via Facebook. She always had a kind or encouraging comment for me and it made me feel close to her, although we were many miles away. My husband and I were almost able to visit her in BC in 2022 but it didn’t work out. I’m so sad to hear of her passing but very grateful to have been in her presence and her heart, she will always be in mine. ❤️
