It is with great sadness that the family announces Herb’s passing, just shy of his 80th birthday, on July 30, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Camrose, Alberta to Carl and Orma. In 1948, they moved to BC where he eventually would meet his beautiful wife, Cheryl, at Port Moody High. They married at Ioco church in 1967 and went on to have three boys that they happily travelled around BC to watch play various sports.

Herb was a sheet metal worker by trade, but had an entrepreneurial side and tried his hand in owning a beauty salon, hotel, yogurt company and construction business before starting Tri City Flashing. He was truly a one-of-a-kind personality who people were inherently drawn to. His generosity, kindness and huge heart endeared people to him. He lived hard, loved hard and fought hard over the last year with his health issues.

He had a love for hot rods and sports, especially golf, but most of all for his family. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Lynn. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Cheryl and sons Shawn (Gayle), Jeffrey, Benjamin (JoDee) and grandchildren Brody (Kailyn), Nolan, Lukas, Taya and Jayden, as well as, his great grandchildren Oakley and Paisley. He is also survived by his siblings Myrna, Lenora (Paul) and Bradley (Amanda) along with many adoring nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 19th at Pitt Meadows Golf Club,13615 Harris Rd. Pitt Meadows, BC. Please join us in your best Herb shirt to share stories and raise a glass for a truly unforgettable soul.
