It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother Gregory Cameron Stewart. Greg passed quietly at Vancouver General Hospital on Monday Feb 17, 2025, at the age of 61. Born in Vancouver, Greg grew up in Maple Ridge. Predeceased by his parents Patricia (Richards) and Harvey Stewart. Greg is survived by brothers Brek (Sher) and Kurt. Also survived by nieces Julia (Andrew), Chantel (Jeremy). Nephews Ian (Kalee), David (Grant), Kris (Katy), Brandon (Baillie). Greg was also survived by great nephews Keegan, Reid and Kezlin and great nieces Evelyn and Dakota.

Greg spent over thirty-five years as a Real Estate Agent following in his parents' footsteps. Greg’s love of lacrosse started at a young age playing minor lacrosse in Maple Ridge and extended to his later adult years playing field lacrosse with the Tri-City Masters League for a number of seasons, including a trip to the World Championships in Denver in 2014.

Greg went through the Order of DeMolay as a teenager which led to him becoming a Master Mason with St. James Lodge #80 in White Rock in his adult years. He gained many lifelong friendships through these organizations that lasted with him throughout his life.

Another one of his passions later in life was his love of the opera. He would attend many performances with one of his closest friends Cilanne Martens every year as well as seats to The Nutcracker annually.

The family of Gregory Stewart would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Vancouver General Hospital for their compassionate care in Greg’s last days.

A celebration of life for Greg will be held on Saturday April 5th at 1pm at the Hammond Open Door Church, 11391 Dartford Street, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

I am living away from Canada and just realized today that I hadn't heard from Bro. Greg in quite a while and so found out that he had died. I am so sorry to hear this, he was such a kind and always cheerful person, who lit up every room he entered. Both freemasonry and the world are poorer places for his loss.

I remember Greg at the TRG BBQ’s in the summer time. He always had time to chat and enjoy good food. He was a true gentleman and always was friendly to everyone. RIP Greg you are now with the Angels. 🌞😊🤗

Greg’s family has been my family’s friends for many years . His father sold us homes and has been to our family home and we to theirs. Our sons have played LaCrosse and soccer and been in Demolay together. Greg always has a smile on his face and a hug for everyone. Just saw him at my son’s funeral and chatted and caught up with him and his brothers. Greg had many friends and everyone will miss him and his smile. Now he is gone to join his parents in heaven and he will be greatly missed by many.♥️♥️

We are saddened to hear of Greg's passing, and want to extend our condolences to Brek, Kurt and the extended family. We have many fond memories of spending time at Uncle Harvey and Auntie Pat's, playing together with the boys! We were grateful to see Greg at our sister's service in July 2023 (Naomi). We recognize the good fortune of stable and loving families and send our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Auntie Elsie, Uncle Norm, Dailene, Cheryl, Heather and extended family.

Knowing you was a real pleasure, Greg. You helped me secure mortgages, sure, but more than that, we both shared a huge appreciation for sitting down and talking to each other. We both enjoyed the world of burlesque and you also opened my eyes to lacrosse. You were a very kind person and a force for good here in my impression. I think we're all poorer for your loss but richer for having met you.
