It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George "Georgie" Riddell, age 77 on January 10th 2026, after a brief illness. In addition to his parents (George Sr. and Edith) George was preceded in death by his brother Joe (Pat), sister Darlene and Brother-in-Law Ron (Marie). George is survived by his wife Mary (Queenie) and sisters Marie and Tammy (Harold). George had four biological children including Sharon, Christina and Karen. With their blended family with Mary, George had four step-children Bobby, preceded in death by Corey, Tammy (Henry) and Shane (Ashley). Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Grandchildren and remembered by many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
George was a retired long time employee of Consumers Gas (Enbridge Gas). Loved watching old black and white war movies, had a love for music, dancing and sitting around a bonfire. George will always be remembered for his huge heart and willingness to help anyone out. George will be greatly missed and forever remembered in our hearts but, is now at peace sitting around a bonfire having a beer. Until we meet again.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place in Ontario this summer around a fire.

I’m sure mom (DD as you called your little sister) told you many times, you were the one person she could always count on in her time of need. You were her rock 🪨
You never judged, chastised, or had a negative opinion or hurtful word when mom fell on hardship; You were the one person who always opened your heart and home to both mom and I, always finding the positive out of a negative with a smile - which radiated not only on your face but also through your eyes.
Whenever I hear the song by Starship “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” I instantly think of you cranking up the volume, grabbing me by the hand, and saying “dance with your Uncle George”

I’m sorry I wasn’t more vocal, Uncle George..more present.
I’m sorry I stayed in my shell too much..
Please know I saw your genuine heart, your kindness, and you will be forever and always remembered! Fly high 🕊️🦋

You have always been a MEGA BIG part of my life. From spending every other weekend and summers on Holmes Point, to our regular phone calls we had up to your last days. It’s suppose to be your turn and I still find myself waiting.
You will always be remembered by your big heart and excessive love!

I have so many fond memories of my uncle George. My uncle love spending time with his family. He was most content around, bonfires with family and friends. His nickname was the Pefferlaw Stud. You alwayst have that one favourite uncle well uncle George you were always mine.May you be at peace. Mom, Uncle Joe your mom, Edith your dad George are now altogether.
