Eduardo Lagula Alvarez, 80, born in Noveleta, Cavite, Philippines. Living most of his life in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 4, 1946, Eduardo was devoted to his family and built a career first as a cabinet maker and later in health care. He enjoyed fishing, classical music, basketball, baseball, and time spent with loved ones.
Eduardo is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Alvarez; his children, Mark, Megin, and Melanie Alvarez; ten cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Aguida Alvarez, Leonila Pena, and Leonardo Alvarez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melanio and Crisanta, as well as his brother, Vergilio
Alvarez.
SERVICE DETAILS:
Prayers and Viewing be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 6:00 PM at St. Luke's Parish, Maple Ridge.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
All who knew Eduardo and his family are welcome to attend and pay their respects.
Eduardo, aka. Kuya Boy, Tatay Ed was known for being happy and light-hearted. He always had a joke or a funny face to share, and his unwavering love and devotion for his wife and family will be remembered always. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
