It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darlene Leigh Sigouin. She passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, and is preceded in death by her son, Wade Sigouin; her mother, Dorothy Lockwood; her father, Leroy Lockwood; and her sister, Sharon Waycott.
She leaves behind her son, Derek Sigouin; her sister, Jo Pattie; her special cousin, Cheryl Finnie; and many other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Darlene was so much more than a name—she was a beloved mother, sister, aunt,neighbour and friend whose love, kindness, and strength touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of home to those fortunate enough to share in her life.
For many years, Darlene proudly worked as a Trades Foreman in the "Work Yards" for the Municipal Operations and Public Works Department with the City of Maple Ridge. She took great pride in her job, and enjoyed working with all of her colleagues.
She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured forever. Though our hearts are filled with sorrow, we are also filled with gratitude for the love she gave so freely.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Derek, your family and friends, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your Mum.
My family and I lived next door to you on 252nd for many years.
I was so impressed with Darlene as a young Mum, you and Wade were her whole life,
Darlene left a huge impression with me, I thought of her often over the years.
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
Fond memories will stay with you forever.

Darlene was a good and kind friend to me when we were young women. Although we had not physically met in many years, she was often in my thoughts. As long as I have memories, Darlene will be in the very fond ones. She will be missed by all of us who had the good fortune of calling her our friend. My heart goes out to Derek and her extended family.
