In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Audrey Hatch, a cherished member of the Maple Ridge community.
For decades, Audrey dedicated her life to serving others through her tireless volunteer work in Maple Ridge. Her efforts touched countless lives, embodying a spirit of generosity and kindness that will forever be remembered.
Audrey was also a skilled newspaper compositor, bringing stories to life with precision and artistry. Her passion for communication and connection shone through as she took on the role of editor for The GrapeVine, a beloved seniors' newsletter that served as a vital source of information and camaraderie for the community.
Above all, Audrey will be remembered for her warmth, her unyielding dedication to helping others, and her ability to make those around her feel valued and loved.
She leaves behind her daughter Christina and her grandson Sean who will carry forward her legacy of compassion and service. Also survived by sisters, Charmaine, Diane, Felicity and brother Dale, cousins, Mary, Pat, Larry, Kevin and Mike, and close friend Arlene.
A celebration of Audrey’s life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation, honouring her commitment to the community she loved so dearly.
Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.

I recently received the heartbreaking news of the passing of my grandmother, Audrey Hatch. She was a kind and gentle soul who took a deep interest in everything I did. Some of my earliest memories with her are of running around in her backyard, enjoying the simple joys of childhood. As we got older, our conversations shifted to discussions about life’s events, often over a meal at White Spot, one of our family’s favourite restaurants.
My grandma had a special fondness for cats, and I remember her home being adorned with pictures of tigers. She was also passionate about reading and writing, spending much of her time at her computer researching and creating articles for the community newsletter. I’ve always admired her dedication to giving back to the Maple Ridge community she loved so dearly.
She will be deeply missed by all of us, as well as by the community that she contributed to so selflessly.
Her love and kindness will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
Your loving grandson, Sean.

A Poem for my Mother
Mother, you were just a girl,
So many years ago.
You had your loves and had your dreams,
You watched me come and go.
You watched me make the same mistakes,
That you had made before,
But that just made you hold me tight,
And love me all the more.
I haven’t always thought about
The things that you have seen.
To me you’ve just been ‘Mother’,
No thought of who you’ve been.
But I remember now with love,
Your life from start to end,
And I’m just glad I knew you,
As Mother, and Best Friend.
Your Loving Daughter,
Christina
