Anne Corrigan

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Anne at the age of 87, on February 18, 2024, at McKenney Creek Hospice, Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

A loving and caring big sister, mother of four, mother-in-law, nana of seven, granana (great-nana) of six and friend to all who knew her.

She was a determined, strong woman who forged her own path through life after raising her children.  Her contributions to support organizations was sincere and unwavering. She dedicated herself to helping others wherever she could.  Her moves from one end of the country to the other were all on her terms and schedule, as was her final fight with cancer.  Her last journey was her most determined and strongest, shielding and protecting her family and friends until the last few weeks. Never wanting to be the focus of attention she finally reached out and stirred a great swelling of love and support from everyone who knew her.

She loved her family, supported them when and where she could, enjoyed her worldwide travels and had dear friends across Canada. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Special thanks go out to her caring neighbors, many friends and to the McKenney Creek Hospice staff for their care.

At Anne’s request a gravesite site service will be held in Toronto mid summer. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maple Ridge Hospice Society or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.

Sometimes you are lucky enough to meet someone who makes you smile everytime you see them. They have the magic to make you feel special. Anne would be out walking the neighbourhood on one of her tasks for the day and I would run into her. Immediately, she was so excited to see me and to express that. I am thankful for our many conversations about life and happiness. I will miss her true smile and wisdom.

I adored Anne's gentle sense of humor, her quiet elegance and her friendship thru the 6 years we got to know her. She will be fondly remembered by Lawrence and I for her gentleness and her love of the Scottish empire biscuits. She never failed to treat us with small thank you gifts at Christmas or New Year's.
We will always think kindly of this beautiful soul that will be greatly missed by so many.
