It is with profound sadness that the family of Alain Donald Million announce his unexpected passing at the age of 47. Al died suddenly due to an acute cardiovascular event on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
Originally born in Montreal, Quebec, he resided in Pitt Meadows, BC. Alain is survived by his Mom (Kelly), Aunts Madonna, Amanda (Patrick), Jessica, Fiona (Michel), Rebecca (Jay) and Emma (Brian). Cousins Michaela, Gerald (Shelby), Simone, Vanessa, Matthew (Vanessa), Andrew, Joseph, Caden, Issac, Elliot, Quinlan, and Adam. Predeceased by loving step dad Larry Dolan, Grandfather Donald Million, Grandmother Margaret Million, family friend Father Michael Shaw (who passed away 2 days prior on July 11, 2024), and many more relatives, loved ones and friends.
Al and his Mom came out to Vancouver when he was 2 and a half years old. He lived, played and went to school in the East Vancouver area for over 25 years. He attended Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School and his favorite place to play and swim was Trout Lake.
Al worked for 12 years as a Client Care worker and then Supervisor at Pacifica Treatment Centre in Vancouver. He lived in Surrey for a number of years where he started his own small business doing pressure washing, painting and landscaping. He later moved to Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows where he more recently worked as a painter with his friend’s company.
Alain played Rugby and Soccer for many years and was an avid Soccer/Football fan, most especially international football. He loved to watch the games with his Grandad (Horse racing too). Having roots in England, his favorite team was the England international team along with Manchester United, Newcastle and Sunderland.
Al and his mother enjoyed travelling and visited a number of cities in England, Paris, New York, Hawaii and Mexico.
Throughout Al’s life he was known as a warm, kind, loving person. He had a way about him that people felt drawn to his caring and compassionate personality.
He will be greatly missed. A service will be held on August 15, 2024. If you would like to attend, please contact the family. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Alain was the son of my cousin and Godmother Kelly, and we were so happy he was able to come to my wedding in the UK with his Mom and spend time with his family here. We remember him for his kind and warm nature, his love of football and how very loved he was especially by Kelly. We send our love and prayers to the family and Alain’s friends. X

Alain was always so very friendly, and always offering to lend a hand. Whenever he saw me with bags in hand he would always offer to help carry things. He even swapped out a car battery in an elderly family member’s vehicle. I have nothing but kind memories of Alain. His passing is a huge loss. My heart hurts for his mom, loved ones, and friends. He will be missed so very much. I am extremely thankful to have had the opportunity to know him. Fly high Alain. God bless your sweet soul.

I was very sad to hear of Al's sudden passing. Even if we didn't get to spend a ton of time together, every time he visited Montreal he tried to make time to see us all. He was a very caring and friendly person and he was always impactful on my life. We all have had richer lives for having him be a part of them.
A loving guy and one of my favorite cousins. You will be greatly missed, Al.
We love you.

I was so sorry to hear about your untimely passing, Alain, but I know you are in a better place now and we will meet again soon.
I will remember you as a very nice child who used to go to the swimming pool with me and your cousin, Vanessa and the good time we
used to have, and later on I remember you as a very lovely young man, gentle and kind hearted and liked by all who had the privilege to know you.
Bye, bye for just a short time, my dear until we meet again. Sending much love,
From Alma Nielsen.
