It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and Friend, John Senft (1942-2020).

John had a long and storied life working on the waterfront, where he joined up with a few of his older brothers, after leaving the family farm in Saskatchewan in 1960. John met his first wife Judy and started a family shortly after. After 43 years, and many double shifts on the waterfront, John retired to work on his “hobby farm” in Maple Ridge.

John and Patsy were very lucky to do some world travelling to the Caribbean, Amazon, Mediterranean and Ireland. After Pats passing John continued to travel with family to Hawaii, Vegas Florida and the Caribbean. One of his favourite trips was a River Cruise with his children down the Rhine, culminating at Oktoberfest.

John was predeceased by his wife, Patsy, the love his life.

John leaves behind to mourn his 3 sons: Darin, Wade (Heather), Rod (Leslie); 3 step children: Coral (Gene), Lisa (Jamie), Steven (Rose). Grandchildren: Michael, Shane, Danielle, Kyle, Sydney, Leah, Carl and Great Grandchildren: Amber and Hannah.

Brothers and sisters: Jake, Elroy, Ed, Helen, Wilma, Ida, Rose & Linda.

John will be greatly missed by all. He is at peace now forever dancing with Mom.

Love you John! Xo

Hi all as I think of uncle john my first memory. Was of over 60 years ago. John had drove his sisters Rose,Verna,Ida possibly and Linda to Peace school I had went along in the buggy. While John was off the buggy and waiting for his sisters to get off the buggy one of the older school boys threw a rock at the horses they were off. Unfortunately I was still in the buggy well John caught the horse in about 200 meters he went back to the school where he looked like he was going to give the stone thrower a beating. I was not around uncle john much but that the only time I ever saw him lose his temper. I always felt he was a favourite uncle. Your cousin Brian.
