Kotila, Veikko (Victor) Johannes

May 25, 1948 - June 15, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Veikko Kotila.

He passed away from health complications at Ridge Meadows Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife (of 46 years) Linda, daughters Lisa and Kristina, and sisters Tuula and Helena.

Born in Toholampi, Finland, Veikko moved to Ontario, Canada in the early 70’s where he met and married his wife Linda. In 1980 they moved to Vancouver, BC for work and to raise their family. They settled in Maple Ridge in 1986.

Veikko worked in mining and construction and was a proud member of the Construction and Specialized Workers Union (Local 1611) since 1981. He was an avid hockey fan and loved watching sports. When younger, he enjoyed gardening, going for walks and traveling, until arthritis made it too difficult.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on June 24 at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel on 216th Street.
