It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Thelma Murphy, of Coquitlam, B.C. January 26, 2023 at Nicola Lodge, in Port Coquitlam at the age of 100 years.
Born in Millet, Alberta in 1922 oldest of 3 children, her family moved to Kimberly, B.C. in 1929.
She took her psychiatric nurses training at what was then Essondale then Riverview in 1946/47 and worked there for 40 years while raising 3 children on her own, before retiring. Loved by all she will be sorely missed as a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother.
A special thank you to all of the staff and caregivers at Nicola Lodge who cared for and assisted Mom these last few years.
To honour Thelma, a Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2023.

If roses grow in Heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother's arms and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it everyday,
But there's an ache within my heart
That will never go away !
