We sadly announce that our beloved Pierre passed away at age 67 after a fight with lung cancer.

Pierre was born in Montreal, but moved to B.C. in the 70’s. He lived and worked in the Lower Mainland except for a 3-year period when he and the family were relocated to Laval, Quebec. Pierre had a successful career in the lighting/electrical business until his retirement in 2014.

He and Kathy met in 1976 at Royal Columbian Hospital where Kathy was a nurse. They got married in 1978 and later had 2 beautiful daughters: Kristine and Stephanie. Thankfully, Pierre lived to meet his sweet granddaughter Emilia, born this year on October 2nd.

Pierre was pre-deceased by his father Jean-Guy, mother Colette, and sister Sylvie.

He is survived by his loving family: wife Kathy (of 45 years), daughters Kristine and Stephi (Tay, Emilia), stepfather Frank, brother Serge (Thérèse), and many family members in B.C., Quebec, Ontario, and Arizona.

He will be remembered for his friendliness, generosity, great sense of humor and willingness to help others. If you needed something fixed (especially electrical or mechanical), he was your guy!

He said that before he died, he had a wonderful life and had no regrets other than he wished he’d had more time. Time to see all the milestones in his children’s and grandchild’s lives. Time to see more of the world. Time to find more fast Mustangs!

Pierre left us too young but he packed a lot of living into his 67 years. He wanted to thank all of you for being a part of his rich and full life. He loved and appreciated all of you.

There will be a celebration of Pierre’s life at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel 11969 216th Street, Maple Ridge on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. Cancer Foundation or the BCSPCA in Pierre’s name would be appreciated.

~He will be forever loved - forever missed~

Kathy and I met and worked together at RCH, in the early 90's. My husband Larry and I became good friends with her and Pierre. We had many fun times socializing together. One year, we had friends out from Montreal and I invited Kathy and Pierre for dinner, seeing as Pierre could speak French.
Well there was wine and other beverages and the party really got going. | remember looking over at his face, you know the one with the big grin, and, he was laughing so hard he removed his glasses and tears were streaming down his face. He enjoyed being busy and helping others, and, I appreciated the many fix it jobs he did in my house. Sometimes Kathy would "offer him up" to have a little peace at home. I have fond memories of our lively discussions on politics, current events and people stories. He had strong views on was right and wrong in the world. He had a big personality and a big heart. And so my friend, I say goodbye and thank you for being our friend.

Dear Stepson Pierre, I hope I have been a good father and friend to you Serge and Sylvie. Over the years we had good times together and shared our sorrows when we lost mom and Sylvie.

I am very sad that you had to go so early, normally I should be the one who goes first. Put as we said at our last get together it won't be long before we are see each other again.
You will always be in my heart.
Love always your papa.

You were more of a brother than a brother in law for me. So glad to have been part of your family.

You have given me such great memories of the times the 4 of us were together, Kathy, Sylvie, you and I. Whether we were traveling, or just hanging out either at your home in Maple Ridge or at mine in Arizona, you always provided good company.

I will miss you so very much. With love and great adoration, Rick xo
