Melvin Emil Sepke passed away in hospital January 8, 2025 due to medical complications at the age of 88 with his family at his side.
Melvin was born November 12, 1936 on a farm near Clearwater Manitoba. He spent his youth with his parents Emil and Annie and his brothers and sisters. He moved to British Columbia in 1955 where he met and married the love of his life, Irene (Ida Irene, 1935-2021) in 1962.
Melvin leaves behind his 3 daughters and their families; Corrine (Kevin, Luke and Sara), Anita (Delaney) and Lisa (Jim and Tessa). Melvin deeply loved his daughters and his grandchildren.
He was very proud of all of his family members and enjoyed the time he spent with them during holidays. Melvin loved fishing and camping. He and Irene spent many summers traveling to lakes around BC with friends and family. His children were lucky enough to see much of BC and the prairies with him and Irene during the many trips to Manitoba to visit his family when they were young.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Canadian Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The family has chosen not to hold a memorial service.

Sepke family so sorry to hear of Mel’s passing ! When I first started working at Clappison Packers part time and then later full time Mel was one of my mentors . He had a great sense of humour and was great role model ,hard working and quite a strong man . I spent a lot of time with Mel and his brother Eugene riding shotgun (swamper) on meat deliveries around greater Vancouver . Rest In Peace Mel !

Had a great time getting to know him. I first met him when was picking up his daughter Corrine. I was in an old sports car and I could tell he was unsure of me but like the great guy he was said nothing but hello. Fond memories camping, traveling and playing crib. Sitting around camp fires with Mel and Irene will be missed.
