It is with great sadness that the family of Lillian Phillips announces her passing on March 24, 2022. Lillian is survived by her husband of 58 years Lawrence (Larry) Phillips; daughters Sherry Dexter; Victoria Greben (Brian); granddaughters Alison Ordowski (Daniel), Rebecca Greben, Danielle Greben, and Renee Greben and great-grandchildren Nathan, Scarlett, Chantelle, Clint and Jack. Sisters Sandra Roberts (Jerry), Georgine Skroter, Diane Peterson, Brian Peterson (Loraine), Dennis Peterson, and Lance Peterson (Sharon).
She was preceded in death by her parents Alec & Runa Peterson, siblings Grant, Alexis, and George Peterson and aunt Vigdis Evans (Ted).
Lillian was born February 17 in Gimli, Manitoba where she grew up on her family’s homestead before moving out west to BC. Lillian and Larry settled in Coquitlam, often hosting many dinners and parties for family and friends.
Lillian always commanded attention when she entered a room with her striking fair Icelandic features and vibrant personality. It feels impossible to capture in words the person Lily was. Her cutting wit, astute personality, and intense loyalty for her loved ones are qualities about her we miss the most. She adored her family and we loved her. She loved gardening with Larry and walking the Coquitlam Crunch with her precious Chow Chows.
One of her greatest adventures was travelling to Europe with Larry. She would always talk about that trip and all the fun they had together.
Lily made a name for herself in her hard work at Safeway and various volunteering positions such as Crossroads Hospice Thrift Store. She was a supportive friend and neighbour in her community.
We would like to thank the staff of the Belvedere Care Centre for all their support over the years.

Our sincere condolences go out to Lily's family. Lily was a force, and she set a high bar when it came to devotion to her beloved family. She was a beautiful woman with an inner strength that was formidable. I will remember her with fondness and am inspired by her example. Rest in peace dear Lily, knowing that you have left behind a strong and loving family, who will take care of each other, as you have taught them to do.

Lilly was a wonderful lady I'm honored to have known for the last 10 years. My fondest memories were drinking wine and dancing around Victoria's kitchen listening to c.c.r and queen. May you rest easy Lilly. All the pain and suffering have ended and you can rest in peace. I will take good loving care of your grand daughter Renee ️ . Love: Cameron
