Judy Beecroft: April 1, 1943 - March, 7 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, mother, and friend. Judy passed away in the presence of family at Mckenny Creek Hospice on March 7th, 2022, after her long battle with cancer.

Judy Grew up in Nelson, BC with her 4 siblings Charlotte, Arthur, Wayne and Gloria. One her biggest passions of life was always gardening, her faith and her family.

She later moved to Maple Ridge after marrying her late husband Tony who was an RCMP officer, and they both had their family of 4: Angie, Rod, Andrea and Patrick. Tony was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in the 80’s and her and the family were there to care, and support him. Unfortunately Judy lost her son Rod in the 1990s, and looked to prayer to get her through. Judy was an avid member of her church for 55 years and was apart of many groups there such as the CWL, RCIA, Legion of Mary, Beta-sigma-phi and taught catechism to children of the church for many years.

After the passing of her husband in 2009, Judy travelled to many religious sites in Rome, Egypt, Israel and Mexico City. Travel was a way for Judy to culture herself, strengthen her faith and find the woman she wanted to be in her 60’s. In her retirement Judy joined many groups to fill her time such as the Maple Ridge Garden Club, Ridge Meadows Seniors Society, and the Red Hat Ladies. She also spent lots of time volunteering in seniors homes, and hosting friends and family for luncheons in her garden.

Judy loved to spend time with her grandchildren above everything, they were the source of her happiness and life. Her daughter Angie had 4 children: Kainoa, Mahina, Kaleo and Kala’i. Her daughter Andrea had 3 children: Olivia, Anneli and Emmitt. Her son Patrick had 2 children: Juliana and Gabriela. She loved taking them swimming, to waterparks, the library and shopping. She spent a lot of time with them in her final months. Up to her final months Judy enjoyed going for walks and coffee with her close friends Marilyn and Delores, and having visits with her friends made from the many clubs she was apart of.

Judy loved everyone in her life, and had such passion for her hobbies and her garden. She will be dearly missed by all of us. Her funeral took place on April 1st, 2022 on her birthday, like she always wished. She reminds us not to be sad because she was ready, after two years of suffering she finally got her ticket to heaven and will be helping Mary in her garden up in heaven.
