Irene Louse Puff of Burnaby, British Columbia has left this plane of existence at 90.

Irene was born during the great depression to John Puff from Gretna, Manitoba, and Toni Heber from DeQueen, Arkansas (U.S.A.)

She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Mother In Law, and a friend to many.

Irene is survived by Wayne Schmidt (Son), Kathy Kambylafkas (Daughter In Law), Nickolas Schmidt (Grandson), and John Wolanski (Son).

She was loved for helping others, her quick wit, and her excellent sense of humor.

To sacrifice one’s own life to ensure the world is a more humane place is not a common occurrence.  A single Mother has the added burden of balancing the economic and parenting challenges that usually involve two people.  You met the challenge and more and instilled in me a strong sense of social justice and a never give up attitude.  Your oldest son and youngest son will keep you alive through our work and let the world know that Mothers rule the world.

As Martin Luther King JR once said “Run if you can, If you can’t run then walk, If you can’t walk then crawl, but above all keep moving forward". In closing another quote “Only dead fish swim with the stream” (Love) (Johnny).

A special thanks to the Willingdon Care Centre.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Irene Puff was one of most gentle and sweetest people I've had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know.
I met her at Trout Lake chasing Wayne around in the water. Then met again at Carnegie Centre to see Wayne playing guitar and making music. She was a wonderful mom, so very proud of her son. She will be dearly missed....
