Ilona Mary Bogle 

August 20, 1942 – July 29, 2022 

It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ilona. She died peacefully with family at her side after living graciously and courageously through her long journey with metastasized breast cancer. Predeceased by her loving husband Don Bogle in 2016 and her first husband Henry Nickles in 1980, as well as her mother, father, two brothers and granddaughter Tia. 

She will be deeply missed by her loving daughter Gloria (Guy), son Jim (Christine), stepdaughter Amber (John), and cherished companion, Ed. Also, she is survived by her grandchildren Lucas, Holly, Marcus, Dean, Crystal and great-granddaughter Hailey. 

Born in Barachois, Quebec, Ilona was one of 14 children born to Emelia Chicoine and Albert Mitchell (Michel) and will be sorely missed by all her siblings, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 Ilona was caring, loving, and fun with so many friends who loved her dearly. She loved to travel, dine out and savour her wine.  

Ilona volunteered with the Canadian Legion for many years. She retired in 2003 from Livingstone International after 34 years. 

There will be a celebration of life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 263 on Sunday, August 28th from 12pm to 4pm and another to follow in Montreal with her very large family.
