After a short battle with Glioblastoma , Ian left us on a cyclone wind Tuesday evening. He is now free to ride the winds.

If you were fortunate enough to know Ian, you knew acceptance, love, respect and true friendship. A genuine and natural healer, Ian helped countless people in his 30-year career as an R.M.T.

A traveler at heart, Ian spent time in Kamloops, Kauai, Ontario, California, Mayan Riviera, Cook Islands, Jamaica and surely left some wages in Las Vegas.  Ian excelled at everything he did including golf, curling, soccer and fly fishing. He enjoyed lifelong friendships with many of his teammates. Entertaining was a passion of Ian’s, generously sharing meals, wines and scotch with everyone who crossed his path and he never took no for an answer.

Ian approached his role as husband and Dad with vigor and commitment which continued on to his beloved grandkids. He loved passing on his interests to the kids and Grandkids .

Our family was blessed by Ian’s presence and we will all miss him more than words can say. Left to forever miss him are: His loving wife, Lesley; His daughters, Annika and Natasha (Quinn); His son, Spencer (Kelsey); and grandchildren Derek, Logan, Reggie, Olivia, and Jayden (who he raised as a son); His mother, Louise; His father, Graym (Bonus Mom Judy); His sisters, Sharron and Janet (Todd); His brother, Jon; His nieces and nephews, Ajse, Marcel, James and Hannah; His extended family of the Roberts, Wilson, and Morris families; and countless other family, friends, patients, and teammates.

We are eternally grateful to Royal Jubilee and the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care of Ian and his family.

Raise a glass to the beautiful spirit of Ian - May he live on in our hearts and memories forever!

As I’ve aged, I’ve found the ones I allow close to me thinning in numbers. Ian was one of those rare ones I allowed in. I instinctively knew he could be become a valued, trusted confidant and friend. I looked forward to seeing him on each of our visits and knew our friendship would grow. I can’t say it enough, I’m truly gonna miss that man. Sincere condolences to his family. ❤️‍🩹
