In Loving memory,

Erika Doberstein (née Neldner) born April 19, 1942, a cherished wife, much loved relative and friend, went home to be with her Lord on April 2, 2024, at 81 years of age. She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Benjamin Doberstein, and older brother Walter Neldner.

She is survived by her two sisters Lucy and Ilse, Nephews Jens and Christian and nieces Andrea and Sabina in Germany.  Niece Erna Ansel (Barry) and Scot, Kelly and Erin and many great great nieces and nephews.  Nephew Robert Doberstein, nieces Susan and Monica from Canada.

Erika was a loving and devoted wife to Ben and a lifelong Christ follower which gave her a rich and generous life of living out her faith to others.  Erika was truly a survivor, growing up in Germany in WWII and facing many adversities and adventures throughout her life.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Chris Dodds for his excellent care and compassion in her last months, as well as all the doctors and nurses at Ridge Meadows Hospital and the care workers at Nurse Next Door.

A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at McKenney Creek Hospice for providing exemplary end of life care in her last days with us.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honour may be made directly to McKenney Creek Hospice, in Maple Ridge.

A service will be held on Saturday, April 13 at 11:00am at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel, with a graveside service to follow at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
