Kitty Knobbe daughter of Lambert and Johanna Hendriks, beloved wife of Jan(John) passed away January 10 peacefully at McKenney Creek Hospice in Maple Ridge with John at her side

Kitty was born in Brunnsum, Holland in 1951. She came to Canada in 1957 with her Father Lambert, Mother Johanna, sister Wilhelmina (Mein), brothers John ,Rob , Harry and Mike who was born in Canada.

Kitty was a very strong willed and compassionate woman, a loving wife to John, a caring and adoring mother to her sons Barry and Stephen (Steve) and their wives Bonnie and Irene, and all of her Grand and Great Grand children. As well as being a beautiful wife and mother, she excelled at the work she did for an electrical company in Port Moody as a bookkeeper/receptionist. She loved the time that she was employed there. Her bosses Daren and John and all who worked there respected her, as she did with them

Kitty was also a very meticulous house keeper, some even called her a neat freak, in a nice way.  Monday's were cleaning day and every Monday was like spring cleaning. Hopefully where she is in the spirit world they will have some swifter dusters and such! LOL! She loved reading especially mystery novels and enjoyed classic movies .

Besides being a wonderful wife and mother for 51 years she was a very good cook. Sometimes she would make a meal and the neighborhood would get a treat from the aroma coming from her kitchen.

Kit, I MISS YOU.  Your sons, daughters, grand children, friends and relatives all miss you.

 REST IN ETERNAL PEACE

A Memorial Service will be held at the Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel, 11969 216 St, Maple Ridge on March 4, 2023 at 11:00am

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a medical charity of your choice.

Although we did not stay in touch over the past years I have such fond memories of you, Kitty, that still make me smile when I think of you. You were always generous, and straight to the point and had a good sense of humour. You were truly unique and have left the world much too soon. Rest in peace.

I’m so glad I got the opportunity to say goodbye to Auntie Kitty. A lot of people say “you’re just like your Auntie Kitty” I take that as a compliment because she was very funny, kind of opinionated lol, a “cleanaholic”, and always the life of the party! I have so many great memories of our time spent camping, family holiday events, and at so many lacrosse games when Barry and Shane played together.
I will miss you Auntie 💕

John and family.., I have not seen you and Kitty for a number of years but I always enjoyed visits with you and Terry and Yvonne. Kitty was a bright energized person and she definitely made an impression on me! Thinking of you and knowing from experience how difficult Kitty’s passing will be on you and your family. Believe me when I say time is a great healer and cherish her memories in your hearts. Thinking of you during this difficult time.

Dear Kitty, I hadn’t seen you in a long time, but it didn’t really matter because whenever we did meet (of course it was always at Minnie and Helmut’s place) we always had a good chat about this, that and the other. I was very sad to hear from Carolyn that you had passed away. After that I called your sister and she told me all the sad news about your illness, I hope you are now free from pain and suffering. Rest in Peace.
