It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alfred James Louie August 21, 2024 in Maple Ridge, BC. Born December 11, 1933 in Port Hammond, BC. Predeceased by his father Tom Louie, mother Nellie Louie, brothers Beverly, Gilbert & Gene.
He is survived by his brother Robert (Letty), niece, Kim (Earle), nephews Jay (Colleen), Darren (Maria), Jason and many great nieces and great nephews.
Alfred was a lifelong resident of Hammond and he spent his life as a commercial fisherman on the Fraser River. He also led a very active life with daily walks, golfing, and tennis. He spent a lot of time at the casino, playing slots, and was an expert poker player. He also loved his weekly meetups with the coffee club at Haney Place Mall. Alfred was a no nonsense kind of guy and a dedicated son to his beloved mother.
Kim and Jay would like to express their thanks to all of Alfred’s friends and loved ones who helped bring love and friendship into Alfred’s life.

I have known that family all my life at 82 now nowing that whole family was great memories for me we all fished the same area I spent many days at there place and hung out with Gilbert rest in peace my great friends

Uncle Alfred was always so thoughtful and kind. He was so handy, too, building our childhood 2-storey playhouse and helping with yard work when we bought our first house. I remember many tennis games and dinners with him growing up, and his fondness for majong games back in the day.
May he rest in peace.
