It is with a very heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of Mercedes Katalina Mikal on Monday September 28, 2020 at the age of 57. She fought endlessly with fierce courage,strength and determination to conquer Lung cancer. She was an accomplished Hair Stylist, Bodybuilder and Mentor/Trainer.
She loved raising her dogs General, Major, Coco, Enzo, Hanna and Highway. All who knew her where touched by her exciting, loving and goal driven personality. She touched so many lives and was a person that you would never forget.
She is predeceased by her father Lesand brother Danny. Survived by her loving husband Franco, her mother Elfi, step-father Bill, eldest sister Leslie (Pat), younger sister Lisa, step-sisters Michelle (Neil), Tarryl (Tom), Carey-Jo, Nicole (Dave) and extended family Ilda, Rita, (Nicola), Renata, Carly and many great friends and colleagues.
A special thank you to all her doctors and nurses at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre, Royal Columbia Hospital and Ridge Meadows Hospital who took such great care of Mercedes and to her GP Dr. Timothy J. Mogga and Dr. Navra Heran her Neurosurgeon at Royal Columbia Hospital.
A memorial and celebration of her life will held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to any animal rescue/shelter or cancer research organization of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Mercedes, when I met you over 12 years ago, it was your smile and kindness that stood out to me. You were such a kind soul and truly had a smile that lit up the room. Over the last few months of keeping in touch with you, I was happy to hear you were staying strong and always had a positive outlook. I loved talking about hair with you, all of our crazy hair stories. Iām sorry I will never get to do your hair as we planned a few months ago, once u felt better. Mercedes I will miss your texts & posts and Hair talk.

Mercedes. So many adventures, so many stories, so many silly secrets, so many experiences together. There will never be another like you. I will do my best to honour you by loving and accepting everyone just as they are - the way you loved and accepted me just the way I am (quirks and oddities included). You were a part of every significant event in my life since I was a teenager. I am a better person because of your friendship. Rest easy my beautiful friend. Fly like a free bird with Dan š. Love you always.
