Malkit (Mike) Mutti – passed away on April 27, 2021 at home surrounded by family. He is predeceased by his wife, Amrit, and son, Ranjit and survived by his children Kulwinder Mandair, Raj Arneja, Kiran Malli and Kuldip Mutti and 7 grand children.
Malkit not only laid the foundation on which so many stand, he built a far-reaching community through acts of kindness and compassion. He gained the respect of all those he met through his actions and worked tirelessly to help new immigrants navigate the system, sometimes by simply providing a place for them to lay their heads while they settled in their new homeland. The number of people he directly or indirectly assisted through their settlement journey is well over 1000. He took pride in helping others. His philosophy was that if I have the means and ability to help, why wouldn’t I.
The most important aspect of Malkit’s life was his beloved family. He loved his children, their spouses and grandchildren dearly as well as his twelve siblings and their families. He took great pride in the fact that not only was there a strong bond between his siblings and him, but also between their families and his children and grand children. It is an understatement to say that his family was important to him.
He is referred to by many in the Mutti clan as the pillar of our family or godfather of the family. His legacy is within each of us – those he has touched through his wisdom, kindness, compassion, stories of his world travels, golf trips and card playing.
We invite you to join us virtually to celebrate him and pay respects on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:00am (https://www.legacystreaming.com/mapleridgefuneral) .
