Benedikt Emil Beeler

April 19/1933- July 2/2021

Dad passed away in the early hours of the morning. He faced issues with Cancer, like everything else, head on.  He was a dreamer, builder, farmer.  He was a motivator, leader and led by example.  He immigrated to Canada in 1953, on a mission to succeed in this new country. After a few stops across Canada, he found himself in Vancouver.  Did some logging, pipeline construction, Fuller Brush, salesman, finally becoming a pipeline superintendent in heavy construction. His real dream was to be a dairy farmer.  Dad met and married his wife, Elsia, in 1954.  Purchased their first house in 1956, in Richmond, B.C. They raised two sons there until 1968 when it happened.  Dad purchased a dairy farm in Pitt Meadows, B.C. Only one little problem, we did not know where Pitt Meadows was. It was a life changer.  It was a huge challenge, but with my Mom’s help, Dad moved ahead being a farmer.  Mom was a natural farmer. In the mid-eighties Dad and Mom sold the farm and moved to Mission, B.C. built a new house and planted 8 acres of blueberries in the hills of Steelhead. As a tradeoff, Mom got her pet goats and chickens. Dad and Mom were very hard workers and were not comfortable sitting around doing nothing. Dad and Mom resided there till dad got really ill and he had to go into care. Through the years he was noted for his love of yodeling, having been born in Schanis, Switzerland. Mom and dad loved to go dancing at the different halls. Dad had a good life and left tired, but he left a mark wherever he went.

Survived by his loving Wife Elsie

Son’s John (Charmaine) Tim (Chris)

Grandson Benji

As a young city girl I remember visiting the farm where Uncle Benny, Aunt Elsie, cousins John & Tim lived in Pitt Meadows, it was always fun...........even the bull pen, where my cousins thought it would be fun to send me after a ball seems so laughable now. When they traded cows for blueberries it was no different as the hard work and long days continued. Uncle Benny's brother, John (deceased 1983) always said "they love life".
I hope now that the suffering is over he and Dad are catching up on all the years gone by.......Love always

As a young city girl, I remember coming to the farm in Pitt Meadows to visit my Aunt Elsie, Uncle Benny, cousins John & was always a great experience and fun.........I also remember being there when the dairy truck would come to get the milk........Uncle Benny had the cleanest diary farm, as everyone knew this was his baby.......
After leaving the cows behind and trading them for blueberries, there was always plenty to pick, which was also long hours and hard work, but as everyone that knew them, they loved it......My dad, Benny's brother, John (deceased 1983) would always say "They love the earth".    Uncle Benny, hope you and Dad are catching up on years gone bye. love you both!
