BRAY, Jack Harold John
March 18, 1958 - July 8, 2018
It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Jack Bray announce his sudden passing on Sunday, July 8, 2018 in Maple Ridge, BC at the age of 60 years old while visiting his daughter and her family.
Jack was born in Sudbury, ON, March 18, 1958 and resided in Levack, ON with his son prior to his passing.
Jack will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Melissa (Kyle) and son Timothy; siblings Helen (Brian), Linda, Joyce (Ron) and Marlene (Marcel); grand-daughter Isabella; grandson Grayson; nieces; nephews and dear friend Val. Predeceased by his parents Meredith and Theresa Bray and brother Gary.
Jack was a dedicated family man, loving father and grandfather. The strongest and bravest man with the kindest, gentlest and friendliest soul.
When it came to all his siblings, Jack exceeded the definition of “brother” and also shared a very special friendship with his sister Helen and brother-in-law Brian.
Jack was a miner before suffering a back injury in his early career. He truly enjoyed being under-ground and longed for an opportunity to do so again. He was a hero to some when he decided to go underground to recover miners trapped by a cave-in. He felt no man should be left behind.
To some Jack was a son, a brother, a grandfather, an uncle, a friend even a hero but his greatest gift to us all was being the world’s most amazing father.
A service in memory of Jack will be held at a future date at Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Sudbury, ON. Information will be updated at Osborn’s Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel site, when available.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
