ROBYN LORD, 72, of Coquitlam, British Columbia, passed away on August 3, 2016.

She leaves behind a dysfunctional family that she was very proud of. Robyn was well-renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is. With that said she was genuine to a fault, a pussy cat at heart (or lion) and yet she sugar coated nothing.

She was a feisty little red head, fierce, loving and a force to be reckoned with.

She did things in her own special way, with zest and flair. Once she planted carrots in the family garden with tweezers, a magnifying glass and a ruler...they were the most perfect carrots grown in the neighborhood! With her kids, laundry barely hit the floor before it was scooped up and taken to be washed and folded. Imagine being a child in school with jeans pressed with a pleat that could cut glass!

You always had to feel a slight bit of sympathy for any telephone salesmen or people calling and thinking she was a victim to be taken – she took advantage of their foolishness, keeping them on the phone forever to ensure she taught them a lesson. She took particular enjoyment in teasing and tormenting life insurance salesmen, advising them they would be forbidden to tell her children of any life insurance policy as they would surely kill her for it.

She lived life with passion and a good dose of humour. The men in her life quickly learned not to complain about her coffee. A coffee pot to the head was a good lesson, and darn it she had good aim! Good man that he was, he made sure to come home that night with a new coffee maker and a bouquet of flowers. He never made that mistake again!

She had a teasing nature. She told her daughter that she was won at a Halloween scavenger hunt....the best prize she every got.....and that sasquatch had eaten all of the doughnuts!

Robyn was fascinated by the paranormal and occult and loved to spend her evenings glued to Coast to Coast (a paranormal news show). She loved to regale her children on stories of alien abductions, ghosts and the strange disappearances of people while camping....thanks mom!

Survived by her daughter Christine Rixon, her son David Rixon, grandchildren Daniel, Alyssa and Angela Pritz, her daughter-in-law Cheryl Reimer and her surrogate sister and life-long friend Laurie Fulljames; all whom loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, spunkiness and love for them. Predeceased by her brothers Morris Waehlti and Donald Young, her parents John and Robyn Waehlti and her loving husband Robert C. Lord.

Please help us celebrate Robyn’s life and share your stories of the laughter and fun you shared with her at 1:00 p.m. on August 27, 2016 at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel, 11969 216th Street, Maple Ridge, British Columbia.
