Louise Pelton (Ratcliffe)
January 27, 1921- February 2, 2018
After a long life filled with love and adventure, our clever, energetic, classy, stylish and indomitable Mother was ready to join Dad. Louise took her final journey surrounded by loving family. Her quick wit and sharp humour kept us on our toes until the very end.
Louise Pelton, supportive wife of the late Austin, proud sister of the late Gordon, Bill and Edith, mother and wonderful role model to five daughters, Sandra (Dale), Ardith (Tom), Lesley (Jack), Penny (Ian), and Kim (Brad). Forever in the hearts of her twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Her legacy will live on.
When our Mother decided to do something, it got done. Whether it was creating a loving home for her family throughout moves across Canada and Europe, graduating from teachers' college later in life. Mom supported Dad during his RCAF career, as Mayor and M.L.A for Maple Ridge and, Minister of the Environment for the Province of British Columbia.Through the years and many adventures, Louise and Austin truly modelled what a life partnership is all about.
Although Dad was the politician, in another time Mom would have been Prime Minister. She loved politics and her keen intellect, strong moral compass, persistence, curiosity and great love of British Columbia and Canada would have made her the ideal candidate.
Her loss will be mourned by many, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A special thank you to all the staff at the Willow Manor Care Unit. They were unbelievable and truly cared for mom. Doctor Lytle has treated our Mother with the utmost respect and understanding anyone could.give. The family especially appreciated his visits the past three weeks, thank you.
At Mom's request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Maple Ridge Community Foundation, PO Box 370, Maple Ridge, BC, V2X 8K9
