Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel & Crematorium

Serving families of the Greater Vancouver area for over 50 years

funeral home Langley, BC

In 1964 Les Osborn had a dream. His dream was to have the privilege and honour in helping the great people of this city through one of the most difficult journeys of their lives. His dedication to exemplary service and caring ethics in providing assistance to families in their time of need is a legacy that we take immense pride in and proudly continue to this day.

I know that Les is extremely proud of his daughter’s Joan and Diane for following though on his dream with the same core values and beliefs that he held dear and for keeping his legacy alive.

The Osborn Family has deep roots in the community and helped shape Maple Ridge alongside many other long time iconic families that were and still are committed to the growth and development of the wonderful community that we all reside in.

Family Owned and Operated

Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel was opened in 1964 by longtime Maple Ridge residents and active members of the community, Les and Eileen Osborn. When they retired in 1988, two of their daughters, Diane MacKenzie and Joan Gibson continued the Osborn tradition of dedicated service.

We are proud members of the Canadian Independent Group of Funeral Homes, the British Columbia Funeral Association, Funeral Service Association of Canada, Better Business Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce.

Many of you are familiar with our very sweet, very furry greeter.

But many of you don't know that he is actually a licensed therapy dog!

Pet therapy has proven to be soothing and provides a calming effect for our grieving families. Immediately Ozzy comforts our families just by his presence alone.

Pet therapy is truly powerful!

Since Ozzy joined our team at the funeral home 6 years ago, many clients have specifically sent thank you cards to him. He receives homemade treats and families even come back to our funeral home just to sit on the couch and pet him.

He's developed an uncanny knack for knowing who needs him, parking himself right next to an older person to let them pet him one minute, and the next he's prancing around playing with the kids. It's really been impressive to watch. As word of Ozzy has spread, most clients request Ozzy's presence at their memorial services. He's part of the team, there's no question about that. It's clear that he's eager to be a part of what we do and wants to help people.

We are very excited to announce that we have been nominated for the 2016 Business Excellence Award - "Business Of The Year" presented by the Chamber Of Commerce. We would like to extend our thanks to whomever nominated us, it's such an honor to be recognized by the community we care so much about.

Wishing the best to all the nominees, as I'm sure we all share the same goal of improving and making our community a better place.
